£2.9bn ProCure21 Plus team seeks contractors views

By Carol Millett

Health officials want to pick contractors' brains on how the £2.9bn NHS ProCure21 Plus framework can improve on the existing framework.

ProCure21 officials are calling on contractors to take ten minutes to complete a web survey on the ProCure21 website.

The survey is aimed at all contractors, not just those on the current framework. It asks for opinions on the existing framework and how it can be bettered under the new framework. It is part of DH’s consultation with the construction industry and potential clients. An industry day is also planned on 24 February in London, at which plans for the new framework will be up for discussion.

The new framework contract will be advertised in June. It will replace the existing ProCure 21 framework, which ends in September 2010.

Interest is high, with the new framework having the potential to double the current workload by allowing all public sector clients to deliver schemes via the framework, so long as they are located alongside health schemes.

Contractors on the existing framework are Balfour Beatty, Costain, BAM, Integrated Health Projects, Interserve Health, Kier Health, Laing O'Rourke, and Medicinq.
