Interior Services Group has strengthened the forward orderbook of its UK regional construction division to £350m thanks to new wins worth a total of £80m in the past two months.

More than half of the new contracts and framework allocations are in the public sector.

The result is that the construction division’s total forward orderbook is 12% up on November 2008.

The division is also preferred bidder on a further £30m of work, predominantly in the education sector.

David Lawther, ISG chief executive, said: "Six months ago we announced £130m of contract wins in the education sector including the £50m South West Ipswich and South Suffolk Sixth Form Centre.

"These further awards demonstrate our growing expertise in the public sector."

Public sector frameworks resulted in £30m of the awards in the latest two months of December and January.

The group’s UK regional construction division is mid-way through its:

  • seven-year partnering framework with the Ministry of Justice
  • a four-year framework deal with Manchester City Council
  • several frameworks with Housing Associations.

Included in the latest awards was a contribution from private sector clients with £18m of wins in the hotel and leisure sectors.
