Pullan Construction in administration, 38 redundancies

By Will Mann

Creditors of collapsed Yorkshire contractor Pullan Construction were due to meet administrators for the business today.

The family-owned business, based at Beeston, Leeds, was placed in adminstration in December.

Pullan employed 38 staff, all of whom were made redundant, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Nick Reed and Ian Green, of PricewaterhouseCoopers, were appointed joint administrators.

A spokeswoman for the administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers said the firm had suffered cashflow difficulties, following losses on a number of contracts.

She added: "The downturn in the construction industry meant that continuing to trade was not viable and the company ceased to trade on appointment of the administrators."

The spokeswoman said Pullan Construction Ltd was not formally part of the larger Leeds-based Pullan Group, which operates from the same site, but was linked "in some way" by having some of the same directors.

Today's creditors' meeting was being held at PwC's Leeds office, Benson House, on Wellington Street.
