Kier scoops £25m academy

Kier Education, in tandem with architect BDP, is the preferred bidder for a £25m academy deal in Wiltshire.

The Wellington Academy, near Tidworth, is named after Wellington College, which is its sponsor, and work on site is due to start around spring 2010 for completion in December 2011.

The county council project will cater for 1,150 stdents and will include a 350-seat theatre, together with performing arts and business and enterprise blocks.

A boarding house for 100 pupils is also part of the deal.
