Galliford Try wins place in four-year Scottish healthcare framework deal

By John Leitch

Galliford Try, the construction and house building group, has announced its second major award in just two days – the latest being the confirmation that Morrison Construction, bought by Galliford three years ago, has been selected as a framework partner on Frameworks Scotland.

This is a four-year construction framework and the capital expenditure will run to £100m-£150m a year.

The client is Health Facilities Scotland, acting on behalf of NHS Scotland.

Workload will be shared between a total of five framework contractors.

Contractors will develop acute care facilities throughout Scotland and work is expected to start early in 2009. Once the four-year period is up, there is a further two-year renewal option.

Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive, commented: “Galliford Try has significant experience in delivering projects for the health sector across the UK and is a leading construction provider in Scotland.”
