North east contractor Kendall Cross has been re-named Galliford Try Partnerships North following its £9.3m takeover by the firm

Former Kendall chairman Neil Ramsey is managing director of the rebranded division which specialises in affordable housing.

He said: "Becoming part of Galliford Try was a superb opportunity to expand the company and has provided stability and sustainability to our staff. With the resources of a major construction and housebuilding hybrid company behind us, we can offer clients so much more, whether this be land, investments, joint ventures or whatever else is required to facilitate their scheme.

"By adopting the Galliford Try brand and utilising the Group’s resources we can not only continue in our areas of expertise with existing partners but we can also compete with national contractors for the larger regional contracts and national frameworks."
