Thieves have made off with £110,000 worth of copper cable from Bedfordshire plant hirer Specialist Plant Associates.
The gang used fork-lift trucks to smash their way into the firm's storage facility between Saturday lunchtime (7 March) and Monday morning, reports Luton Today.
The haul weighed several tonnes, and a spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said the thieves would have used a large lorry.
Specialist Plant Associates supplies the tunnelling and construction industries with equipment ranging from excavators to ventilation plant.
