A 50m section of scaffolding has crushed around a dozen cars after falling off the roof of a building on a trading estate in Exeter.
The scaffolding had been erected by a roofing contractor at Minster Insulation's Marsh Barton branch as part of a roof replacement, according to the Exeter Express & Echo.
A statement from Minster Insulation said: "We can confirm that scaffolding erected by an independent roofing contractor working at Minster’s Marsh Barton branch has collapsed. No one has been injured although cars in the surrounding area have been damaged.
"We have suspended the contractor pending the outcome of our own safety investigation and that of the HSE.
"We will be working with the HSE to help establish the cause of the scaffolding’s collapse.”
No one was hurt in the incident on Wednesday morning, though a woman who eight months pregnant was in one of the cars damaged.
The contractor has not been named.
