The new proposals will include a 'tighter' 58,000 capacity ground, designed by the KSS Group, as well as regeneration of the surrounding area planned.

The regeneration scheme will feature a public square on Tottenham High Road, 450 homes, a 150-bedroom hotel, shops, club museum and dedicated community space for local events.

Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy said: "Too often new stadiums are surrounded by empty, dead space and we did not want that in Tottenham."

He went on to say that the more compact stadium will give fans the opportunity "to be closer to the pitch than at any other comparable stadium in the UK."
