Willmott Dixon, Wates and Kier on £360m framework

By Brian Warner

Three firms have signed up to a framework deal in the East Midlands valued at £360m and aimed at saving the costs and time involved in repeat bidding for individual projects.

Willmott Dixon, Wates and Kier have trumped seven rivals and got on board the East Midlands Property Alliance.

VolkerFitzpatrick, Morgan Ashurst, May Gurney, Miller, Interserve, GF Tomlinson and Thomas Vale all lost out.

The four-year deal, likely to weigh in at £90m per annum, will involve a mix of new build and refurb work on public buildings at various locations in the East Midlands.

It is believed that the projects are likely to include libraries, offices, civic buildings, care homes and schools.

Sources close to the project say a mini-tender process is unlikely and that work will be directly awarded to individual contractors.
The deal is being rolled out by Scape System Build – a consortium owned by six councils.
