Sisk wins contract to build £14.5m Holiday Inn

John Sisk & Son has won a contract to build a £14.5m Holiday Inn on the Winnersh Triangle Business Park in Reading.

The eight-floor development for client Meridian Leisure Hotels, which operates the Holiday Inn franchise, will contain 174 rooms and will comprise a pre-cast concrete frame.

The hotel will also include a conference facility, restaurant, leisure facilities and swimming pool.

Work is due to start in mid April and Sisk will remain on site for 55 weeks. Completion is due for May 2010.

Sisk regional construction director Grant Millar said: "Building and renovating hotels is one of our core competencies, so it is great to work with a company of Meridian Leisure's operational excelence who are a leader in the hotelier industry. We look forward to handing over a great hotel on schedule."
