A £1m 'dream home' in Stockton-on-Tees has been demolished within a few days of its completion because it was unsafe.

Owners Mark and Karen Ball noticed cracks appearing in the walls of the three-storey mansion, and realised the foundation was faulty, reports Metro.

Their six-bedroom home also featured a gym, sauna and triple garage.

Demolition contractor Thompsons of Prudhoe, which knocked down the house, said: "It is probably the newest building we've ever demolished."
