The Olympic Delivery Authority has spend £1.7m on furniture since it was established in 2006.
The information was disclosed in a question by Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps to Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell this week.
Ms Jowell said: "As a new organisation established in 2006, the ODA purchased furniture for its offices in Canary Wharf and Stratford at a total cost of £1.7m."

Ms Jowell went on to say that there is a cost sharing agreement in place between the ODA and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic games, who will use the furniture when their staffing levels increase and the ODA winds down in the run-up to the games.
