LiveHire keeps HSS customers up to date

HSS has introduced a real-time hire management system called LiveHire which allows customers to hire and off-hire items at the click of a mouse. The extranet system is a free service for larger, multi-site contractors and reduces the administrative burden which can exceed the hire cost for smaller items.

LiveHire users can see what they have on hire, where it is and when it is due for return as well as financial information and KPI reports. They can also hire items, with the prices displayed reflecting any discount, and if there is a dispute both parties can view the same information on-line to resolve the situation.

Even items ordered over the telephone appear immediately on the system which generates a single monthly invoice with details of the equipment on each site. According to HSS chief executive Chris Davies the move represents the latest step in our development away from product focus to customer focus.

Trials indicate initial saving of around 10% as users immediately spot and off hire unwanted items and are expected to make further administrative and ‘good practice’ savings.
