North Wales demolition contractor Porthmadog Services Limited (PSL) has gone into receivership.
Boss Gareth Jones has blamed other companies not paying his firm for work carried out, reports Daily Post North Wales.
One of PSL's biggest creditors was Welsh Highland Railway Construction Limited (WHRCL), a subsidiary of Ffestiniog Railway, which is building the 28-mile Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog.
PSL has claimed it was owed £23,000 for work to help build the new rail link, which has received £4.9m in public grants.
Jones said: “We’ve now gone into receivership. They’ve had money from the Welsh European Funding Office to build the railway line and are refusing to pay a local contractor. I employ 15 local lads but I’ve had to let four go.
“They should not be allowed to get away with this.”
WHRCL’s Alasdair Stuart said: “We have explained to Jones, who ran Porthmadog Services, the law requires that any monies payable to PSL cannot be paid to him (or any other firm that he may now operate) but only to PKF, the liquidators of the company.”
PSL was established in 1982, and operated in sectors including demolition, recycling, groundworks and muckshifting.
