Galliford Try has been awarded a £54m contract by West Kent College to redevelop its Tonbridge campus.

The redevelopment will include the construction of a new performance arts building, a main reception area, a community hub and learning areas.

The upgrade will include a bio mass energy centre and a Sustainable Urban Drainage System.

Completion is expected in 2011 though students and staff will start moving into the new buildings in spring 2010.

Greg Fitzgerald, Galliford’s chief executive, said: "We are delighted to be delivering this new project."
