Tender out for £12m Cornish Wave Hub installation

The official tender for the installation of Wave Hub, a wave energy farm off the north Cornish coast, has been advertised.

The hub, which is being project-managed by engineering firm JP Kenny, is located around 10 miles off St Ives.

The contract comprises the 'load out' (from a Northern European cable manufacturing plant), transportation and installation of approximately 26km of subsea power cable, plus the hub structure in up to 50m of water.

Construction of trenching for the cable near to the shore, plus a 'pull-in' on the beach at Hayle is also included in the scope of the job.
