Sixteen firms have won a place on the £40m Northern Dioceses framework, for the new build and refurbishment of schools across the North of England.
Contractors received framework documents this week, and the first work is expected to come on stream by the autumn.
The four-year deal will cover the Cumbria, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North/ East Yorkshire dioceses.

Work is expected to range from £500,000 to £6m, with the majority of the work between £500,000 and £3m. However the total value for the full programme of works is uncertain as it will depend on future budget approvals.
