ISG takes £9m deal to refurb leisure centres

ISG has won preferred bidder status on a contract, thought to be worth around £9m, to refurbish two leisure centres for Waverley Borough Council and leisure firm DC Leisure.

The deal will see ISG improve facilities at Cranleigh Leisure Centre and Farnham Sports Centre.

Work at Cranleigh will start in July, where ISG will refurbish and modenise existing facilities, creating a larger gym, enhancing changing areas, improving the reception and café and creating four dedicated treatment rooms.

ISG will begin work at Farnham Sports Centre in November, where it will build a two-storey steel frame extension at the front of the building to house a new reception area, with large fitness suite at first floor level.

The sports hall will be upgraded and new dry side changing facilities created. The scheme also includes the retiling of the existing swimming pool, the creation of three dedicated treatment rooms and the construction of an enlarged multi-purpose crèche area.

Both centres will stay open during the improvement works.
