Morgan Ashurst has landed a £71m deal from Airbus to manufacture a composite wing assembly facility in Broughton, Flintshire.
At its peak the project will create 400 jobs through the company and its supply chain.
The 52,300 square metre factory will be used to assemble carbon fibre wings. It will be designed by Morgan Professional Services, who will provide the architectural, civil and structural engineering design and the concept design for the mechanical and electrical services.
The facility will be a steel-frame structure with a three-bay configuration. It will include a vast overhead craning system to move the bulky wing structures.
The project is due to be completed in 2010.
