Yorkshire and Humberside specialist Robinson & Sawdon has set up a new division to target major jobs across the region.
The move by the £8m turnover firm is designed to capitalise in the revival of the Hull construction market and is part of a wider restructuring.
Robinson & Sawdon will continue to manage local Hull contracts but a new company, R & S (Hull) Ltd, will specifically target bigger projects in a wider area, and will continue to be led by the current management team, headed by managing director James Deacon.
Seven separate stand alone companies have also been created to further enhance its expertise in specific sectors and streamline its operations.
Deacon said: "These are exciting times for the firm and the new structure will allow innovation and dynamism in each one. These changes will offer an even better service to our clients and sets us up for the coming years.
"We will be retaining the best of the Robinson and Sawdon brand and ethos but will be enhancing it in this evolution. The new branding will position us as one of the leading firms in the North and show how we have changed in recent years. The future is very bright for the company. The construction market in Hull and the North of England is definitely seeing signs of revival and these changes will make us best placed to fully capitalise on this over the coming years."
The company portfolio will be:
• R&S (Hull) Ltd
• R&S (Scarborough) Ltd
• Robinson & Sawdon Ltd
• Compass Developments Ltd
• Compass Construction (UK) Ltd
• Compass Smartfit Ltd
• Compass Joinery Ltd
Robinson and Sawdon was formed in 1929 with Managing Director James Deacon, buying out the previous directors in 2006, whose relatives had founded the company.
