This weeks top 5 construction tenders include a £200m programme to manage central heating installation in Scotland, a schools construction programme worth £110m on the Western Isles of Scotland and a £73m housing framework in Exeter. Glasgow: Central heating installation

  • Value: £150m-£200m
  • The Scottish Government is advertising for a managing agent to deliver its Energy Assistance Package (ASP) for three years between April 2010 and March 2013. The chosen contractor would manage the installation of central heating in around 10,000 households, depending on the measures required.

Western Isles: Schools construction

  • Value: £110m
  • A contractor is required to fulfil the Western Isles School Project, a scheme to design and build five schools on the islands of Lewis, Harris and Benbecula. The contract to build the primary and secondary schools is split into two lots. Lot one is for the design and build, with an estimated value of £60m, and lot two is £50m worth of facilities management.
  • Deadline: 3 September

Exeter: Housing framework

  • Value: £73m
  • Framework South West (FSW), a group consisting of a number of housing associations, is looking to establish a framework of up to 54 participants. The contractors will be invited to design, construct and commission mixed use housing developments as well as converting existing housing stock. The work covers the projects of FSW members across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
  • Deadline: 20 August

Loughborough: University construction

  • Value: £50m-£70m
  • Loughborough University is seeking a development partner to construct the second phase of its Science and Enterprise Park. The developer will work in a joint venture with the University to fund and build a range of buildings for research and development or technology related occupants.
  • Deadline: 26 August

Durham: Utility work

  • Value: £42.7m
  • Northumbrian Water plans to increase the storage capacity of its Abberton Reservoir by 60% to meet future demand. To achieve this it is advertising for a contractor to upgrade Kennet pumping station, lay 32km of transfer pipelines, and construct a new raw water pumping station.
  • Deadline: 4 September
