Contractors are lining-up for the latest major landscaping job on the Olympic Park as another raft of awards under general building frameworks continued to see work pumped into the industry by 2012 chiefs.
Ninety firms registered an interest in the contract for the landscaping of the south of the park with13 formally submitted pre-qualification questionnaires.
Following a thorough evaluation, a shortlist of five has been drawn-up comprising of Skanska, Morrison, Volker Fitzpatrick, Land Engineering (Scotland) and Lagan.
The Olympic Delivery Authority expects to announce a winner this autumn.
John Hopkins, ODA Parklands and Public Realm project sponsor, said: "The London 2012 parklands are on track with construction work due to start in the coming months. We need to work with the best in the industry to deliver this complex and challenging project and companies have once again shown their enthusiasm to be part of this once in a lifetime opportunity."
Two major framework deals have also seen a raft of contractors pick-up guaranteed work for the run-up to 2012 and alteration work in the post-Games legacy period.
Mansell, Volker Fitzpatrick and the Byrne Group have won places on the general building and common site services framework.
Work will involve the design and construction plus removal and recycling of general building, fit-out and common site services on venues across the Park.
Mitie, Spie Matthew Hall, Balfour Beatty and Imtech have won places on the building services framework for Olympic venues across Stratford to design, install and maintain mechanical and electrical plant.
