Tupen's 'more affordable' spider

By Colin Sowman

Teupen's new Leo 13GT is a "more affordable" 12.8m working height spider lift with non-marking tracks, a narrow chassis and 6.1m of outreach with a 200kg in the basket. Its automatic outrigger levels the machine on inclines up to 14% and it can climb slopes up to 26% and traverse 20% cross-slopes.

To keep the Leo 13GT's price down, Tupen is using batch-production and has eliminated post-assembly finishing as the chassis and outriggers are pre-dipped and electrostatic zinc finished before assembly.

Weighing 1.4t, the Leo 13GT can be transported on a 3.5t flatbed or loaded on a propose-build trailer, giving a 1.8t tow weight - within scope of many vans and 4x4s.

Steve Hadfield, managing director of UK importer Ranger Equipment, said: "The Leo 13GT is priced to take on competing 13m spiderlifts and higher specification trailer lifts in a pivotal sector of the aerial work platform market."
