McLaren Construction is believed to be in pole position for a £20m slice of the £100m planned redevelopment of Donington Park.
Contract Journal understands that McLaren Construction, which is not related to the Formula 1 team, will build a new media centre and associated infrastructure at the circuit, which could be worth up to £20m.
Sir Robert McAlpine is lined-up as main contractor on the job to revamp Donington Park in time for next year's British Grand Prix in July.
Owners of the track are currently putting the final funding package in place before the main construction work starts.
The revamp will have to be completed in less than 10 months for the circuit to be ready to hold next year's British F1 Grand Prix.
