Delegates to the CITS half-day conference at JCB's world headquarters in Rocester on 3 November will hear views on plant theft from plant hirers, contractors, the police, the Home Office and the insurance industry.
Speakers will include A-Plant's Douglas McLuckie and Hugh Edeleanu, chairman of HE Services, who will share his bitter experiences and the methods crooks are now employing to steal plant. Mike Revell of Clancy Docwra will give the utility contractors' views on preventing theft and delegates will also be addressed by Home Office minister Alan Campbell.
Deputy Chief Constable David Ainsworth of Wiltshire Police will highlight the links between plant theft and organised crime, while Stephanie Watkins, chief executive officer of HSB Engineering Insurance, has entitled her presentation 'Enough is Enough'.
DC Ian Elliott of the Plant and Agricultural National Intelligence Unit will look at the progress made in increasing the recovery of stolen plant and there will be an array of security product manufacturers displaying their wares.
