Scottish Water advertises £100m mains rehabilitation framework

Scottish Water is looking for contractors to tackle a mains rehabilitiation framework.

The utility is looking for between two and five contractors for the framework, which will run for four years, with an option to extend for a further two.

The estimated value is between £60m and £100m.

The work is part of Scottish Water's Quality and Standards investment programme for the regulatory period 2010 to 2014, and covers the whole of Scotland including the Highlands & Islands. 
 
The work involves the rehabilitation of the water mains network throughout Scotland by means of spray lining of existing water mains using PU and Epoxy lining methods. The scope of the framework may also include:

  • Excavation works to facilitate access to the water mains / fittings.
  • Flushing, swabbing, scraping and cleaning of existing water mains.
  • Traffic Management associated with spray lining works.
  • Temporary Works associated with the spray lining works.
  • Testing including CCTV surveys non destructive testing etc.
  • New connections and reconnections to support spray lining works as well as the replacement of water mains fittings as required.
  • Any incidental mains rehabilitation works where deemed appropriate.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 9 November 2009.
