A brightening economic outlook has promped a host of exhibitors to sign up for SED 2010 (18-20 May, Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby).
Pear Track Systems will use its first SED appearance to publicise what is said to be the world's first self-contained GPS tracking system with a 10-year battery life. The dedicated plant unit uses GPS to locate the item and transmits information using the Global System for Mobile communication.
It can be fitted with a movement sensor so if the plant is placed on a trailer or moved off-site, the device will give an alert and send frequent position reports. Users can view all equipment positions and the nature of any alert through Pear Track's password-protected website.
Brian James Trailers will be another SED newcomer, while Red Rhino returns with a new 3000 Multiform crusher. Other recent signings include diesel purification specialist Cawdell, Pick-Up Tops, tank specialist Tuffa UK and for the 22nd consecutive year Arc-Gen Hilta.
