Hallmark Plant Hire of Deanshanger near Milton Keynes has taken delivery of the first Volvo EC27C compact excavator sold in Great Britain.
The new 2.7t mini replaces the EC25 and EC30 models and is said to deliver performance in the range of the bigger machine with a compact design similar to the smaller. Volvo said the conventional design provides exceptional stability along with minimal superstructure swing.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre Volvo engine with auto-idling that automatically drops revs to idle if a control is not used for five seconds. The right joystick has an electronic proportional roller, allowing the operator to accurately adjust hydraulic flow for more precise control of simultaneous slew and offset movements.
All the EC27C's hydraulic functions are performed independently for more control and less delay when handling multiple tasks and it has an automatic two-speed travel system.
