BAM Construction has won a deal to build the South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's £50m Mental Health facilities in Shelton.
The 120-bed mental health facilities will also include a 24-bed low secure unit.
Enabling works are expected to start in autumn next year, completing in 2012.
The 11,200m2 project will be delivered under England's ProCure21 health construction framework. The construction contract is worth approximately £31m.
BAM's construction director Jon Winterton said:
"This is a particularly pleasing project for us at BAM. Our track record in health and education is outstanding but we are less well established in the mental health construction sector so Shrewsbury's long awaited and much needed development is also a great opportunity for us. We're looking forward to our partnership with the Trust.
