Cheshire-based civils firm Daniel Contractors is undergoing a restructure which is expected to result in job losses.
CJ understands that several management-level posts have been reduced and consolidated and redundancies are also expected at its Welsh office.
A spokesman for the firm, which has an annual turnover of around £200m, said: "Like many other companies and clients in our sector, we are conscious that our business needs to adjust to the reality of the markets we serve.
"Therefore, we are currently reviewing our organisational structure so that we can continually improve our competitiveness and effectiveness. The company is due to commence a consultation process with employees, the focus of which will be to seek ways to minimise the impact of any potential job losses over the next few weeks."
He declined to reveal how many job losses were expected at the company.
