Buckingham wins £11m River Island depot

Buckingham Group has beaten off competition from three rivals to win a £11m warehouse for the River Island fashion chain at Magna Pak in Milton Keynes.

The job involves the design and build of two interconnecting warehouses accessed by 47 loading bays.

Buckingham won the job following a tender race against Bowmer & Kirkland, McLaren and Winvic.

Extensive external works, including parking for 149 lorries and 490 cars, will be undertaken alongside hard and soft landscaping.

Buckingham director Mike Kempley said: "This prestigious contract represents another major step in the development and growth of our business.   Buckingham Group Contracting have the experienced staff, well developed specialist supply chain and the design teams, which, together, have enabled us to make a major impact in the retail  and distribution sector."
