Electrocuted worker is first fatality since start of April


A 24-year-old man has been killed while working on a domestic site in Buckinghamshire - the first construction fatality since the beginning of April.

The man, an employee with Euro Underpinning, was with another man at Rutherford Road, Aylesbury, when the incident happened on Tuesday (26 April).

The pair was putting in the foundations for a new garage when the power supply failed to work. When the victim went to check what had happened he was electrocuted.

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and police have launched an investigation.

In the year ending 31 March 2005, 71 people were killed in construction related incidents.
