Chris Pape quits Carillion for top job at Pettifer

By John Leitch

Chris Pape is leaving Carillion to become managing director of Pettifer Construction.

He takes over the reins from Brian Pettifer who has been acting as the family group’s managing director as an interim measure. The start date is still to be finalised.

Pape is currently managing director of Carillion’s regional building division, one of the group's fourteen operations.

At the time of the acquisition of Mowlem by Carillion two years ago, he was md of Mowlem’s building division.

It leaves just two ex-Mowlem employees in senior posts at Carillion: Peter Clay is managing director of regional civils and John Platt heads up Carillion FM.

A spokesman for Pettifer said he was delighted that Pape was joining the company.
