WS Atkins has bought a Dutch aerospace consultancy called Nedtech from its founder Wim van Beinum.
Latest figures show that Nedtech had a turnover of £3.5m last year and assets running to £1.9m. It employs 50 people and is based in Amsterdam. No price has been put on the value of the deal.
Nedtech has expertise in civil and military aerospace structures, system and engine design.
Ivor Catto, managing director of Atkins’ Design and Engineering Solutions business said: “It will enable us to respond to restructuring within Airbus”.
Atkins is currently supporting the development of the Airbus 350, A380, A400M and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
