Shaylor, the Midlands construction group, has bought John Davies Interiors (JDI).
JDI has a £13m-a-year turnover. It is based in Oldbury and specialising in interior fit-outs, its clients including Wickes and Deloitte & Touche.
The name John Davies Interiors will stay and all 50 employees are being retained.
Ted Chapman continues as managing director while John Davies, who founded JDI 25 years ago, remains as chairman.
Shaylor operates in several sectors which include healthcare, education, commercial and retail.
Steve Shaylor, md of Shaylor, said: “We can now provide a total external and internal solution. We were attracted to JDI because it fits in with the ethos of Shaylor.
“JDI will be run as an independent unit and will operate along exactly the same lines as it always has. However we will be introducing an investment programme. This will include systems improvements, development in training and IT and a greater focus on sales and marketing.”
With JDI on board, Shaylor’s annual turnover is expected to rise to £75m.
