WSP has record orderbook worth £1.2bn

By John Leitch

WSP, the consultancy group, has announced that its long-term orderbook has grown to a record £1.2bn.

WSP says that growth has been helped by:

  • the highways appointment for Northampton County Council
  • the highway appointment for Area 8 MAC
  • international project awards

The group commented: “The worldwide markets in which we operate remain generally unchanged and while some specific sectors in the UK property market have been impacted by bank liquidity issues, this is not affecting our performance.”

Acquisitions made last year are said to be integrating well.

In the Middle East, WSP has been appointed for the Kalva Mountains road in Sharjah, a major civils and tunnelling project.

WSP’s banks have come up with a £150m credit line to support growth over the coming five years. It will be used to provide extra working capital and to finance further acquisitions.
