Owners insist Liverpool stadium build plans still on track

Plans for Liverpool FC to move into a new 71,000-seater stadium, set to be built by Laing O'Rourke, are still on track according to co-owner Tom Hicks.

Liverpool’s proposed move to Stanley Park for the 2011/12 season has come under scrutiny today as it was revealed Hicks has put Texan development Glorypark on hold.

Supporters are worried that the set back in America will signal a hold-up for the new £300m stadium. A representative for Hicks told the Financial Times “The reprogramming at Glorypark is entirely unconnected to the plans for Liverpool.”

He followed this saying “Site work starts in September and the actual construction by early November.”
