The use of congestion charging is likely to spread across the country after Manchester announced that it was going to go ahead with road charging, according to the Telegraph today.
The newspaper claims that Cambridge is already involved in a bid for government funds to be used for transport improvements in return for introducing congestion charging.
Bristol is now tipped as the next likely candidate to go down the same route. Three other areas - Reading, Durham and Tyne and Wear – are also alleged to be watching with interest.
