Costain board reshuffle aims to add focus


Costain has reshuffled its board to set up four new contracting operations within the company, each led by a managing director and focusing on target customers.

David Jenkins tackles the environment sector (water, waste, marine) Darren James heads up infrastructure (highways, rail, airports, nuclear) Alex Vaughan leads community (health, education, retail) and Charles Sweeney has responsibility for the oil, gas and process sectors.

Alan Kay will take on the new role of chief operating officer, co-ordinating and supporting operations throughout the group.

Also, Tracey Wood is appointed to the executive board as human resources and legal director and Stephen Wells will take responsibility for strategy in addition to his current business development role.

All other executive board positions are unchanged.
