Balfour Beatty bags £205m US Air Force job

Balfour Beatty's US PPP concession arm has won a £205m deal to be the private sector partner for the US Air Force's housing privatisation project.

Balfour Beatty Communities will cover three Air Force bases for the Air Mobility Command (AMC) West Military Housing Privatisation Project, including the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington; Travis Air Force Base, near Fairchild, California; and Tinker Air Force Base near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The 50-year project starts with a seven-year development period which will see the design, construction, and overall management of 2,435 housing units.

Commenting on the award Balfour Beatty chief executive Ian Tyler said: "Finalising agreement for this project is a further milestone in confirming Balfour Beatty's leading position in the US PPP Military accommodation market."
