Norwest Holst has won a £50m contract to design and build a new sixth form college in Luton.

The firm, which is part of Vinci, will build the 16,000m2 college in the grounds of the existing Luton Sixth Form College, which will remain open during construction.

Work is expected to start mid-November and be completed by spring 2010.

Improvements to community sporting facilities are also included in the contract.
