Network Rail has announced plans to build a new national headquarters on the site of Milton Keynes’ former National Hockey Stadium.
The company has signed an agreement with Milton Keynes Partnership to consolidate its operations on the one site, which is located next to the city’s mainline rail station.
Details of the project and a schedule for development will be finalised in spring 2009.
Milton Keynes Partnership chief executive John Lewis said: “Network Rail’s decision to commit to this major investment in Milton Keynes is a real boost to business confidence in the city.
“We will continue to work closely with Network Rail and Milton Keynes Council to support the successful delivery of this exciting opportunity.”
