Plans to build a wind farm in Kelmarsh, Cambridgeshire, could be derailed by locals who claim an historic battle took place on the site.
E.On has proposed the construction of seven 120m high wind turbines that could power up to 7,000 homes and save 15,000 tons of carbon dioxide a year.
According to the Daily Telegraph, historians have claimed the land is part of a battlefield where Cromwell’s men defeated the Royalists in 1645 during the Civil War.
