Design & Build, Buckinghamshire County Council

Construction: Buckinghamshire County Council

Design and build of a process canopy for the In-Vessel Composting (IVC) facility at High Heavens, High Wycombe.

The Council require the construction of a lightweight fabric clad cover system over their existing IVC operations (currently occupying an area of 90m by 65m). Civil, mechanical and electrical engineering enabling works, may also be included in the contract, but this is not yet confirmed. The principal aim of this cover is to provide an environmentally manageable structure that will mitigate against the release of unacceptable odour and other emissions to the atmosphere.

Applications are invited from suitably experienced contractors for consideration to be included on a select list of contractors for the design and build of a canopy/roof structure to cover the council’s current In Vessel Composting process. The anticipated start date for the building contract is June 2009.

Contractors who have the resources and specialist ability to carry out such work should make a written expression of interest and request for Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ).

It is a requirement for this contract that the successful organisation must have passed the Contractor Health & Safety (CHAS) Assessment or an equivalent. If the organisation believes they are registered with an equivalent organisation they must contact CHAS to have this verified. CHAS information can be found at www.chas.gov.uk or they can be contacted on 0208 545 3838.

Expressions of interest and requests for PQQs should be marked for the attention of:
