Taylor Wimpey share price plummets

Taylor Wimpey's share price has plummeted by 18% this morning, falling to a low of just 5.75p.

The drop is by far the biggest among the house builders, most of which have either held steady or seen modest falls on trading so far this morning.

Changes in value were:

• -7.35% Persimmon to 224.0p
• -3.12% Bellway to 494.0p
• -2.89% Bovis Homes to 294.25
• -1.35% Barratt to 54.5p
• +0.41% Berkeley Group to 725.0p

It was a similar story for listed contractors, whose prices also saw minor falls in value:

• -2.79% Balfour Beatty to 295.0p
• -2.28% MJ Gleeson to 73.0p
• -1.88% Carillion to 208.5p
• +0.0% Northern Bear to 67.0p
