Willmott Dixon looks set to land a £33m school rebuilding scheme in Berkshire.

West Berkshire Council has chosen Willmott to work on the pre-construction phase of a project to provide a new home for St Bartholomew's school in Newbury.

The firm, which is understood to have beaten off a challenge from BAM Construction, will now work with the council to agree the final design and cost.

The main contract should then be signed this spring and work on site is expected to begin in April.

The framework project involves replacing the exisiting school premises with a new building on the current site.

The new school will include a green roof and a biomass boiler using recycled wood chips.
