Speedy Hire reshuffle results in new Speedy Asset Services

By John Leitch

A reorganization at Speedy Hire will see the creation of a Speedy Asset Services, including a lightside and a heavyside business.

There will also be a strategic relationships division, according to radio news channel IRN.

The plan is to have the new organization up and running by April.

The leading posts will go to:

  • Andy Carter – heavyside
  • David Graham – lightside
  • Dave Harris - strategic relations

Speedy is looking to introduce an international services division, led by Mike McGrath as well as two others: branded services and advisory services.

The upheaval to the existing structure will see an end to the present product-specific divisions as Speedy shifts the focus on business with major accounts.

Speedy is looking to shift the perception of its operations towards those of a service provider rather than a pure hire supplier.

Speedy currently operates under two main divisions;

  • Tool Hire
  • Equipment

The latter is further sub-divided into:

  • Power
  • Lifting
  • Survey
  • Pump
  • Space

Speedy feels that the European market will come to be dominated by around 20 super-customers in the future and it wishes to position itself to be a suitable provider.
