Rok wins eight frameworks worth £160m

By John Leitch

Rok has won eight framework agreements, totalling around £160m in revenue, since the start of 2009.

Garvis Snook, Rok’s chief executive, said: “To be winning this number of new framework agreements so early on in the year is encouraging and stands us in good stead for the months ahead.”

First up was the deal with the Guinness Trust housing association. In a national framework agreement, Rok will build new homes under a variety of schemes over the next four years.

Rok already has a working relationship with this trust, supplying a range of services from gas boiler maintenance to emergency property repairs.

In a second deal, Rok has signed on the line with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for repair and maintenance work on 150 properties in the UK.

A third award, this one with Leisure Connection, has contracted Rok to carry out planned maintenance, alterations and emergency repairs in the fitness clubs, leisure centres and swimming pools.

The remaining five agreements are with regional and local housing associations and city councils.

They call for:

  • building new homes for rent
  • repairing occupied properties
  • preparing empty homes for new tenants.

For two of these five, work involves alterations to properties to comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.
