Kosran's quick fit option

Vehicles security specialist Kosran is offering manufacturers a 'plug and play' option for installing its immobiliser and has opened an office in France.

Plant manufacturers willing to fit a deutsch connector to the wiring loom can install Kosran's ECV immobilisation system in 14 minutes on the line or 25 minutes if retrofitted. With installation time cut to a minimum, Kosran says the price of its system is the same as a bucket.

The system automatically cuts the fuel supply after the ignition is switched off and, unless the valve receives an electronic coded signal, it will not re-open, so cutting wires or connecting a battery will not bypass the system. Its heavily shielded valve is re-opened via a keypad (where the PIN codes can be changed by a mobile phone call) or a coded key fob.

Kosran's French operation is based to the south west of Paris. The capital accounts for 70% of plant thefts.
